Echocardiogram

An echocardiogram is a non-invasive ultrasound test that evaluates the structures of the heart, as well as the direction of blood flow within it. A heart attack occurs when a part of the heart muscle is damaged or dies because blood flow is reduced or completely blocked. Every 40 seconds, someone in the United States has a heart attack. 1 . A heart attack, also called a myocardial infarction, occurs when a part of the heart muscle doesn’t receive enough blood flow.

Stress Echocardiogram

Heart disease is the number one cause of death in America killing ten times as many women as breast cancer. A stress echocardiogram is a test that uses ultrasound imaging to show how well your heart muscle is working to pump blood to your body. It is most often used to detect a decrease in blood flow to the heart from narrowing in the coronary arteries.

Carotid Doppler

The Carotid Doppler Test is non-invasive, using sound waves to measure the flow of blood through the large carotid arteries that supply blood to the brain. It also detects plaque (carotid artery disease) and can help determine stroke risk and the need for preventive measures. The Carotid Doppler is painless and harmless. There are approximately 800,000 strokes and 300,000 transient ischemic attacks (TIAs) each year in the USA and, with an estimated 144,000 deaths each year, stroke is the third leading cause of death. Worldwide, stroke is the third leading cause of death after ischemic cardiac disease

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Ultrasound

Approximately 200,000 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms, of whom 66% have no prior symptoms or warnings. It is estimated that 1 million people in the United States have undetected, potentially fatal abdominal aortic aneurysms. 75% to 90% of individuals with a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm do not survive. With this test we can determine if you are at risk for a rupture. If so, a treatment and prevention plan can be put into place.
